Upper Burbage Valley

Upper Burbage Valley - Landscape Photography
Upper Burbage Valley, looking south to Higger Tor and Carl Wark. Vist visited by Mesolithic hunter-gatherers, this area was settled periodically thoughout pre-history. In more recent times, the valley was the site of a medieval iron bloomery and a farm following the enclosures. During WW2, it was the site of an army training ground and many bullet holes and mortar bomb scars can still be found along the edge.
