Rockley Furnace

Rockley Furnace - Mono Landscapes
Rockley Furnace, near Barnsley. Built between 1698 and 1704 to smelt iron ore into 'pigs'. An odd little spot, so close to the M1 that the roar of the traffic dominates the place. Rockley Engine House is about 100 yards to the south west.
